Students seek placements to learn about the skills that matter most in work places. These include communication, both written and verbal; team work, learning to work alone, adhering to timescales, learning about schedules, the importance of customer service, quality of work and time keeping.

All of these make a very good addition to a student’s CV and increase their prospects of employment after studying.

It is important for our organisation to provide an ideal environment to help students develop and gain good experience in our services. It provides an excellent way for a student to learn about the different aspects of services we offer.

Placements form an important part of a business’s ethos, corporate social responsibilities and identity by developing the skills of local students or those that are important to the future of our sector and industry.

LymphCare UK are very proud to work with Birmingham City University (BCU) supporting pre-registration Nursing students on their community placement.

LymphCare is the first Lymphoedema service in the country to take students on a full community placement and is proud to be embedding awareness of Lymphoedema/chronic/oedema and Lipoedema at such an early stage in nurse education.

We were delighted to have been awarded a student placement of excellence Gold leaf award, this was for exceptional student evaluation feedback. We look forward to continuing to work with the BCU.
